AMERICAN AQUATICS has an outstanding staff of aquatic scientists that have extensive experience in collection and identification of benthic macro invertebrates. We have
the only benthic lab in the Eastern United States that is capable and licensed to handle samples that are contaminated with hazardous or radioactive wastes. We also routinely handle and
process uncontaminated samples.
The AMERICAN AQUATICS benthic lab is designed to simultaneously process both contaminated and uncontaminated samples. Our staff of
aquatic ecologists is experienced in the collection and identification of benthic organisms. In the past two years we have performed about 700 stream assessments using benthic organisms as
indicators of relative health. Weare experienced in using Rapid Bioassessment and IBI protocols.
